Matte Hybrid - doesn't that sound like a high end, fancy sports car? In fact, Matte Hybrid (the name is Linda's invention, not an industry standard) is a high tech polyester fabric that is easy care, wrinkle free, and a dream to work with! A blend of 98% spun polyester and 2% spandex, it is classified as a woven but its unique construction gives it the stretch commonly associated with a knit fabric.

Matte Hybrid is stable on the lengthwise grain and has about 20% stretch crosswise. One side of the fabric is smooth while the other side has a crepe texture similar to matte jersey, and the addition of spandex gives it great recovery so it will keep its shape. The fabric is opaque and can be used on either side. Best of all, it has the weight and drape of a 4-ply silk crepe at a fraction of the cost!
