Italian yarn dyed windowpane plaid jacquard knit - midnight/whisper

From Italian designer deadstock, this is a wonderful yarn-dyed jacquard windowpane plaid, a soft all-wool knit in a jacket/dress weight. The classic windowpane plaid design (2.5" repeat) is knitted in fine whisper white stitches on a midnight blue ground (PANTONE 19-3908 is close, etc.). The back side is a mélange of whisper white and blue, with the same soft texture as the face, which can replace the need for lining in some styles. It has 10% stretch widthwise only, and is opaque and soft with some body in the drape. Not at all dense and smooth to the touch. It would make a fantastic cape, coat, jacket, fitted cardigan, pullover, trousers, cold weather dresses and skirts, etc. Dry clean or treat as you would any fine wool fabric.
